Hiro Murai: Gold

Born in Tokyo, raised in LA, director Hiro Murai has recently released this surreal music video for Australian singer/producer Chet Faker.
Choreographer Ryan Heffington managed to find a girl with two friends who could dance and skate as well as she could. Starring skaters Candice Heiden, April Corley and Appelusa McGlynn and shot on a desert Highway in Acton, California – this clip is utterly mesmerising.

I was surprised to hear that there is almost no post-work involved. All of the skating and camera moves were done by driving down the same stretch of road 30 times. The end result is a beautifully crafted clip combining a few takes, stitched together at only 4 transition points.
